An AI notepad combines a normal document editor with AI that can record, transcribe, and summarize. Unlike a pure transcription tool that stops at a wall of text, an AI notepad is where the meeting becomes a living document: you write alongside the transcript, organize notes into folders, and reuse them later. An AI notepad earns its place during the meeting, not after it. You open a note, jot down the few points you care about, and let the transcript catch everything else. The weak spots show up quickly when you test one: typed notes that live in a different app from the transcript, AI output that ignores what you wrote, and no easy way to file, share or search past meetings. How Reline does it
Reline is an AI notepad built on a Notion-style block editor. Each meeting lives in one note. You type your own points while Reline records your microphone and the call audio on your computer, with no bot in the call. Afterward, Reline writes enhanced notes from the transcript and treats what you typed as the signal of what mattered. Your own notes and the enhanced version both stay in the note, next to the recording. - An AI notetaker records a meeting and hands you a transcript and summary afterward. An AI notepad is a document you write in during the meeting: the AI adds the transcript, then merges it with your own notes. The raw material is the same, but you decide what the final notes emphasize.
- Do I still need to take notes with an AI notepad?
- Not full notes. A few words per key moment are enough. Short typed notes tell the AI what mattered to you, such as a decision, a number or a follow-up, so the final notes put weight where you would have. If you type nothing, the notes are built from the transcript alone.
