The best Metaview alternative depends on the job. For notes and scorecards written into your ATS, look at BrightHire or, if Ashby or Greenhouse is your ATS, its own notetaker. If pasting into the ATS is fine, Granola ($14 a seat) and Reline ($15) cost far less than Metaview Pro ($60). If ATS sync is the point, stay on Metaview.

What does Metaview cost in 2026?

Metaview’s notes pricing page lists three plans. Free is $0 with 25 calls a month and basic transcription. Pro is $60 per user, billed monthly, with unlimited calls and priority processing. Enterprise has tailored pricing through a demo. The page shows no annual price, though the help center mentions annual renewal dates, so ask sales.

Metaview’s help center adds limits the pricing page leaves out: free users share a cap of 60 conversations a month across the whole organization, and they can only open conversations from the last 14 days. A Metaview blog post from 1 May 2026 says paid plans add ATS sync, custom rubrics and reporting, while the pricing page does not tie integrations to a plan, so confirm ATS sync before you count on Free. Other agents cost extra: Sourcing Pro is $100 per user a month, and Reports is a flat-fee add-on with no public price.

Search results disagree on these numbers. Here is who says what:

Why look for a Metaview alternative?

We found no public data on why teams leave, so these are the trade-offs visible on Metaview’s own pages, not a survey.

  • Price per seat. At $60, five recruiters cost $3,600 a year. That only pays off if ATS sync and recruiting templates save real time.
  • Free plan limits. 25 calls per user sounds generous, but three busy recruiters reach the 60-conversation cap for the organization, and history stops at 14 days.
  • A visible participant by default. Metaview’s notetaker joins calls as a participant the host admits. It also has a no-bot desktop app for Mac and Windows, so check that before you switch for this reason alone.
  • Built for hiring. Metaview’s own blog says it is overkill if you only need raw transcription for general meetings. If your team wants one tool for team meetings and one-to-ones as well, a general tool covers both.

If you use Metaview for sourcing or application review, this page is the wrong shopping list. Noon’s comparison of 15 October 2026 names Noon, Juicebox, SeekOut and hireEZ for sourcing. Here we only cover the notetaker job.

If ATS sync is why you bought Metaview

Only a tool with a real ATS connection replaces that part of Metaview. There are three options, each with a catch.

BrightHire: the closest like-for-like

BrightHire, which Zoom bought in a deal that closed in December 2025, sells Interview Intelligence: AI notes and scorecards submitted in one click. Its site names Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Oracle, Gem and iCIMS. On Meet and Teams its notetaker joins as a participant, and it can email candidates the day before with an opt-out link. It lists SOC 2 Type 2 and customizable retention. There is no public price: Interview Intelligence is priced by company size, through sales, so you cannot call it cheaper until you have a quote. BrightHire Screen, a separate product, is an AI interviewer that scores screens against a rubric, which is a different risk from taking notes.

Ashby AI Notetaker: only if Ashby is your ATS

Ashby’s notetaker works inside the ATS, so there is nothing to sync. It joins as a participant on Zoom, Meet and Teams, only for interviews scheduled through Ashby, and does not record phone calls. It drafts feedback for a person to review and approve, and it has admin retention rules plus consent messaging and logging. It is a paid add-on on every plan. Ashby’s add-on page offers a 500-interview trial at no extra cost, and the price is shown in the product or by quote. Ashby itself starts at $400 a month on Foundations.

Greenhouse Notetaker: only on its newer tiers

Greenhouse’s August 2026 release notes say its Notetaker is available on the Core, Plus and Pro tiers, though another page on its site still asks you to register interest. A bot joins Zoom, Meet or Teams, records, and drafts notes against your scorecard questions for the interviewer to review and add in one click. Greenhouse says its AI does not assign ratings or recommend scores. Admins set consent rules. Recordings are deleted after 30 days by default, or you can set up to 60, while transcripts, notes and scorecards stay. Each interview uses one credit. There is no public price, so ask your Greenhouse contact, above all if you are on an older tier.

Both cost a third of Metaview Pro or less on annual billing, and both send a notetaker into the call, though Fireflies’ pricing page also lists a Chrome extension that records without its bot. Fireflies’ integrations page offers a Greenhouse connection that logs transcripts and summaries under candidate profiles. Its recruiting page names Lever too and promises scorecards from interviews, but it does not say it fills scorecard fields in the ATS. Metaview’s blog calls the Fireflies route a manual job through Zapier, which does not match Fireflies’ page, so test it in a trial. Pro is $10 a seat billed annually ($18 monthly) and Business $19 ($29 monthly), per Fireflies’ post of 10 July 2026.

Otter’s Recruiting Agent page says it syncs to Greenhouse and other ATS systems, but it names only Greenhouse and does not mention scorecards. Otter’s pricing page says its notetaker joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet. Business is $19.99 a user billed annually ($30 monthly). Avoid the free Basic plan for interviews: it caps each conversation at 30 minutes.

Metaview vs Granola: which fits a recruiter?

They solve different problems. Metaview is built around the hiring record. Granola is an AI notepad for anyone in back-to-back meetings. Metaview’s post of 3 October 2026 says a recruiter on Granola still copies notes into the scorecard by hand, and Granola’s own recruiter post agrees: it tells you to copy the structured output into your ATS.

Choose Metaview if scorecards must land in the ATS with no human copying them. Choose Granola if you interview a few times a week, type your own notes, and can live without replaying what a candidate said.

Reline: what you get and what you give up

Reline is our product. It captures your microphone and computer audio on Mac, Windows or Linux (beta), or in a browser, so no bot joins the call. Capture is the only local step: transcription, AI and storage run in the cloud, in 60+ languages, and your candidate notice should say so. The audio stays with the note, and you can press play on any transcript line before you quote a candidate. Notes are private by default: a workspace role alone grants nothing, so a private candidate note stays with the people you add, and each note keeps an activity log. Free is 10 hours of transcription and 1 hour per recording, no card. Professional is $15 per seat a month ($12 billed annually).

What you give up is real. Metaview’s pricing page lists Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, Gem and SmartRecruiters, and its integrations page lists many more. Reline connects to none of them. Your hand-off is pasting into the ATS, or sending a signed webhook on each new summary through Zapier, Make or n8n and building the last step yourself. That is a fair deal for a small team with a light ATS step, and a bad one for a team filling scorecards all day.

The other limits, stated plainly:

  • Speakers are Me vs Other (your microphone vs the call audio), plus a beta option that numbers voices for you to name. Reline does not know names. On a panel that takes work, and in a room everyone arrives through one microphone.
  • Summaries do not point back to the transcript. You check them by pressing play on a line, or by asking in chat, where an answer can point to the note or the moment. Metaview’s notes link each section to the transcript, so it is ahead here.
  • No phone screens unless the call plays through your computer, and no upload: Reline transcribes live while it records, so it cannot process a past recording. Metaview does both.
  • No candidate notice or opt-out in the product. No bot means the candidate sees nothing, so a written notice before the call is your job.
  • No auto-delete schedule. “Delete permanently” in the trash removes the note, recordings and transcript at once; otherwise the trash purges after 30 days.
  • No SOC 2 report and no BAA. A DPA is available. There is no choice of data region.
  • Audio only, no video, and no mobile app.

One more difference to weigh. Reline’s Candidate Scorecard Lens drafts a 1 to 5 score per dimension with evidence from the transcript, a total out of 30 and a hire recommendation from Strong Yes to Strong No, and it includes a culture fit row. Metaview says its notes describe what was said and that the decision stays with the interviewer. If you use our Lens, treat the output as a draft, copy the Lens and remove those rows if you prefer, and have a person decide. AI that scores candidates can bring extra legal duties in some places, so ask counsel.

What does the price gap mean for a small team?

ToolPer seat a month5 seats a month10 seats a year
Metaview Pro$60$300$7,200
Otter Business (billed annually)$19.99$99.95$2,398.80
Fireflies Business (billed annually, per its July 2026 post)$19$95$2,280
Reline Professional (billed monthly)$15$75$1,800
Granola Business$14$70$1,680

BrightHire and Ashby’s add-on have no public price, so they are not in the table. The gap between Metaview Pro and Reline is $45 a seat a month. At a cost of $45 an hour, that is one recruiter hour a month, so if Metaview’s ATS sync saves more time than that, it pays for itself. Metaview’s blog says one customer, Catawiki, saves 2 to 6 hours per recruiter a week. That is a vendor claim, so run the sum with your own hours.

The cheaper tools win when you run few interviews or your ATS hand-off is light. On free plans, Metaview gives more call volume: 25 calls a month per user, against Reline’s 10 hours of transcription, which covers about 20 half-hour screens.

Whichever tool you pick: notice and retention

Recording rules cover the candidate whether or not a bot joins. Metaview, BrightHire, Ashby and Greenhouse offer notice or opt-out tools for their notetakers, and Granola offers an optional chat message and watermark. With Reline, nothing in the call tells the candidate, so the notice is on you. We found no Metaview help page on notices for its no-bot desktop app, so ask if you plan to use it. Several US states, California among them, require every party to agree before a call is recorded, and in the EU you need a lawful basis under the GDPR and should say why you record. Rules differ by country and state, so check the rules where everyone on the call is. The simple habit: tell the candidate in writing before the call, say it again at the start, and stop if they object.

Decide how long you keep recordings, transcripts and scorecards before the first interview, and put it in your notice. Metaview’s default is 2 years unless you ask for another period, so check that it matches your policy. Reline has no schedule, so someone has to delete by hand.

When should you stay on Metaview?

  • Scorecards must land in your ATS with no human copying them. This is the main reason, and none of the pages we read for the cheaper tools says they fill scorecard fields in the ATS.
  • You run phone screens. Metaview has a switchboard, and you can also upload a recording afterwards.
  • You want the tool to handle candidate notices and opt-outs.
  • Your security review needs a SOC 2 Type II report or a fixed hosting region. Metaview lists SOC 2 Type II and AWS UK hosting.
  • You need automatic deletion. Metaview’s help center says its privacy team can arrange it; Reline has none.
  • You also use its sourcing or application review agents.
  • Your volume fits its Free plan. One or two recruiters under 25 calls a month each should try that first.

Switch when notes are the job and the ATS step is light: a small team, a founder hiring the first few people, or anyone who wants one tool for hiring and every other meeting. Those teams pay for sync they barely use. Run the new tool on a week of real interviews, with notice given, before you cancel.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does Metaview cost?
Metaview’s pricing page lists Free at $0 with 25 calls a month, Pro at $60 per user billed monthly with unlimited calls, and Enterprise by quote. Its help center caps free users at 60 conversations a month across the organization and 14 days of history. Figures such as Core at $20 or Pro at $50 appear on third-party pages, not on Metaview’s page today.
What is the best free alternative to Metaview?
For small volume, try Metaview’s own Free plan first. Beyond that, Granola Basic keeps 30 days of history, Otter Basic gives 300 minutes a month with a 30-minute cap per conversation, and Reline Free gives 10 hours of transcription and 1 hour per recording. None of those three pages shows ATS scorecards being filled on a free plan.
Is Metaview better than Granola for recruiters?
If scorecards must reach the ATS automatically, yes: Metaview posts notes and scorecards to the candidate record, and Granola lists no ATS. Granola costs $14 a seat against $60 and joins no call, but it keeps no audio to replay. Metaview also has a no-bot desktop app, so a bot alone is not a reason to choose Granola.
Does Reline integrate with Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby?
No. Reline connects to no ATS. You paste the output into the ATS, or send a signed webhook on each new summary through Zapier, Make or n8n and build the last step yourself. If scorecards must land in the ATS automatically, choose Metaview, BrightHire or, on Ashby or Greenhouse, its own notetaker.
Does Metaview join the call as a bot?
By default its notetaker joins as a visible participant that the host admits or removes. Metaview also has a desktop app for Mac and Windows that records with no bot joining, browser recording from your microphone, and a phone switchboard.
Do I need to tell candidates if no bot joins?
Plan on it. A no-bot tool shows the candidate nothing, so the notice is entirely yours. Several US states require every party to agree, and in the EU you need a lawful basis under the GDPR. Rules differ, so check the rules where everyone on the call is, and have counsel review your notice. This is not legal advice.
