The details
- On Google Meet the notetaker joins as an unauthenticated guest, so a host usually has to admit it from the lobby. MeetGeek's own advice is to tell the organizer in advance that you have invited a bot.
- By default the notetaker is named after you, with the keywords MeetGeek Bot attached so the system can tell bots from people. On the Business plan the name can be customized.
- MeetGeek does have bot-free routes for some situations: a mobile app for in-person conversations, a Chrome extension for browser meetings, a desktop recorder, and file upload. For scheduled calls the bot is still the default.
- Reline is bot-free for every meeting, not only the fallback ones. Capture runs on your Mac, Windows, or Linux machine, transcription and summaries run in the cloud, and the audio stays in the note for playback.
