Does Fathom join the call as a bot?
By default, yes: Fathom joins Zoom, Google Meet and Teams as a bot participant. It also offers a bot-free audio capture mode on Mac, now generally available, and has announced one for Windows. Reline has no bot at all: it records on macOS and Windows, in a browser tab, and on Linux (beta).

The details
- Because Reline's capture is local, it also works for in-person meetings and any audio your computer can hear — not only supported video platforms.
- You get the same deliverables, a transcript, action items and a summary, and the audio is kept so you can press play on any transcript line and hear the moment it came from.
- Transcription is multilingual (60+ languages) and runs in the cloud; audio is stored in Cloudflare R2 and never used to train third-party models.
