The details
- Avoma's bot settings decide how loud that presence is. An admin sets the bot name, can have the bot play a spoken recording announcement when it joins, and can post a recording disclaimer in the meeting chat.
- There is one route without the extra participant: with Zoom cloud recording, Avoma's documentation says you will not see the Avoma Assistant as an additional participant, because Zoom records the call and passes the file to Avoma. Zoom's own recording notice still fires.
- Anyone on the call can open the participant list and remove the Avoma Assistant, which ends the recording. Avoma also drops the bot after 10 to 15 minutes of silence.
- For in-person conversations Avoma points to its mobile app or a file upload. Reline captures mic and system audio locally on macOS, Windows, and Linux, so video calls and in-room meetings use the same flow, with transcription and summaries in the cloud.
