- Bot side: Fireflies documents video recording on Business plans and above, and only on Zoom, Teams or Meet calls where the bot joins. Fathom records video across its tiers. The bot is inside the call, so it can see the call.
- Local-capture side: tl;dv's help centre states that bot-free recording is audio only and does not record video, screen sharing or chat messages. Circleback's desktop app is the exception, capturing the meeting window by default.
- Reline records audio: what your computer plays plus your microphone. You get a transcript with speaker separation, a citation-backed summary and the recording itself, not a video file.
- For most note-taking that is the right trade. What you go back for is a sentence, a number or a commitment, and pressing play on a transcript line to hear it takes a second. Scrubbing a video for the same moment does not.
- When you genuinely need the visuals, a recorded demo or a whiteboard, use the meeting platform's own recording alongside. That is the honest answer, and it costs less than a bot tier you only want for video.
