- In Zoom this is an explicit setting: save chat messages from the meeting or webinar, and with a cloud recording started the chat text is stored with the recording. Being inside the meeting is what makes that possible.
- Reline records audio: what your computer plays plus your microphone. Links, file names and messages typed into the chat panel never become sound, so they are not in the transcript, and we are not going to imply otherwise.
- This matters more than it sounds, because the chat is exactly where the things transcription is worst at end up. Spellings of names, URLs, ticket numbers and figures get typed precisely because they are awkward to say out loud.
- The workable habit: save or copy the chat at the end of the call and paste what matters into the note, next to the transcript. A Reline note is a normal editor, so pasted chat lines sit with the AI summary and stay searchable alongside everything else.
