How to record a GoTo Meeting when you are not the organizer
In GoTo Meeting only organizers and co-organizers can record. Attendees have no record button, and an administrator can switch a user's recording method off entirely. Reline records the audio GoTo plays through your computer plus your microphone, locally on macOS or Windows, so you get a transcript and a summary without organizer rights and without a bot in the session.
How to do it
Open Reline on macOS or Windows and start recording before you join the GoTo session.
Join the meeting as normal. Reline captures the audio GoTo plays through your speakers plus your microphone, on your machine, so the attendee list does not change.
Stop recording when the session ends to get a transcript with speaker separation and a citation-backed summary, with the audio kept for playback.
Ask for consent where the law or your company policy requires it. GoTo's own recording announces itself. Local capture does not, so the disclosure is on you.
Why bot-free
GoTo's recording model is organizer-first by design. Its support documentation says organizers and co-organizers can record a session, and the only workaround it offers an attendee is to be promoted to co-organizer. Administrators can also set a user's recording method to disabled outright, which takes the button away from the organizer too. The bot route is only half available here: Fireflies lists GoToMeeting among its supported platforms, but Otter's notetaker covers only Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. Local capture removes the dependency completely. Nothing has to be admitted to the session, and nobody has to change your role first.
