How to chat with your meeting notes across a folder
Put related notes in a Reline folder, open the folder chat, and ask a question that spans every call in it, like "what did this account say about pricing across the last three calls?". The answer is built from the transcripts inside that folder and cites each one, so you can click through to the exact moment it came from. RAG chat also works on a single note or across a whole workspace.
Record or import the calls you want to ask about
Reline captures mic and system audio locally on your device on macOS, Windows, and web, with no bot joining the call (on Linux, mic capture works today; system-audio capture is in active testing / early release). On macOS, grant the one-time system-audio (screen-recording) permission so it can capture the other participants. Each recording becomes a note with a transcript in any of 60+ languages.
Create a folder for the related notes
In the sidebar, create a folder, name it for the account, project, or topic you want to query, and move the relevant notes into it. Keeping a customer's calls in one folder is what lets you ask a question "across the last three calls" and get one grounded answer instead of opening each note separately.
Open the chat for that folder
Select the folder and open its chat. The chat is scoped to the notes inside that folder, so it only draws on those transcripts. You can also open chat on a single note when you want a tighter scope, or run it at the workspace level to search across everything you have access to.
Ask a question that spans the calls
Type a real question in plain language, such as "what did this account say about pricing across the last three calls?" or "list every objection they raised about onboarding." Reline retrieves the relevant transcript passages from the folder and answers from them, so the response reflects what was actually said rather than a guess.
Follow the citations back to the transcript
Every answer links to the exact transcript moments it used. Click a citation to open that note and jump to the line, then use in-app playback to click any transcript line and hear the audio from that point. This is how you verify a claim before you forward it or act on it.
Reuse the question with a Lens or in another folder
If you ask the same thing every week, turn it into a Lens, a reusable saved AI template. Reline ships 16 built-in Lenses and you can create your own, then run it against any folder or note. Folders are private-by-default with five-level permissions, so a teammate only sees chat answers from notes they're already allowed to open.
FAQ
- Does the chat make up answers or use my actual calls?
- It answers from the transcripts inside the scope you chose, the folder, a single note, or the workspace. Every point links to the exact transcript moment it came from, so you can check the source rather than trust a summary blindly.
- Can I ask across more than one folder?
- Yes. Run the chat at the workspace level to ask across every note you have access to, or scope it to one folder when you only want a specific account or project. A single note can also be chatted with on its own.
- Who can see the answers from a shared folder?
- Folders and notes are private-by-default with five-level permissions, so chat only surfaces content from notes a person is already allowed to open. Someone without access to a note won't see its transcript appear in their answers.
