How to connect Google Calendar to Reline

Open Settings, then Calendar, and connect your Google account with read-only access. Once connected, Reline reads your upcoming meetings and auto-attaches each one to a note, so a note is ready and waiting before the meeting starts. Reline only reads your events; it never creates, edits, or deletes anything on your calendar.

  1. Open Settings and go to Calendar

Click your avatar or workspace name to open Settings, then select the Calendar tab. This is where you connect and manage calendar sync. You'll see options for Google and Microsoft.

  2. Connect your Google account

Click Connect next to Google. You'll be sent to Google's sign-in screen to pick the account whose calendar you want to use. Reline requests read-only access, so the permission screen only asks to view your events, not modify them.

  3. Approve read-only access

On Google's consent screen, confirm the read-only calendar scope and grant access. Reline reads your events to know when meetings start and who's invited; it does not create, move, or delete calendar entries. You'll be returned to the Calendar tab once it's connected.

  4. Let upcoming meetings auto-attach to notes

After connecting, your upcoming meetings appear in Reline and each one auto-attaches to a note. The note is created ahead of time so it's ready before the meeting starts, with the title and time already filled in. Open it when the meeting begins to start capturing.

  5. Record the meeting in that note

When the meeting starts, open the attached note and start recording. Reline captures your mic plus the other participants' system audio locally on your device, with no bot joining the call. On macOS, grant the one-time system-audio (screen-recording) permission the first time so it can capture the other participants.

  6. Disconnect when you want to stop syncing

Go back to Settings, then Calendar, and click Disconnect next to Google. This stops Reline from reading new events and ends the auto-attach behavior. Notes you've already recorded stay exactly where they are.

Frequently asked

FAQ

Can Reline change or delete events on my Google Calendar?
No. The connection is read-only, so Reline only reads your events to know when meetings start and which note to attach. It never creates, edits, or deletes anything on your calendar.
Does connecting a calendar add a bot to my meetings?
No. Calendar sync only pre-creates and attaches notes to your upcoming meetings. Recording is bot-free and happens locally on your device, capturing your mic and the other participants' system audio with no bot joining the call.
Can I use Microsoft Calendar instead of Google?
Yes. Reline supports both Google and Microsoft calendar sync, and both are read-only. Connect Microsoft from the same Settings, Calendar tab if that's where your meetings live.
